峡谷指谷坡陡峻、深度大于宽度的谷地，是V形谷的一种。一般发育在构造运动抬升和谷坡由坚硬岩石组成的地段。当地面隆起速度与下切作用协调时，易形成峡谷。
A gorge refers to a valley with steep slopes and a depth greater than its width. It is a V-shaped valley, generally developed in a tectonic uplift section with a valley slope composed of hard rocks. It is easy to form a gorge when the uplift speed of the ground is in harmony with downcutting.
跌水潭通常指通过磨蚀作用和水力作用，从瀑布落下的水流活跃地浸蚀抗蚀力弱的岩石，产生洼地，称为跌水潭。公园内跌水潭景观丰富，潭水清澈，润滑嫩绿，与瀑布形成潭瀑景观，镶嵌在深山峡谷中。
A plunge pool usually refers to the water falling from the waterfall, through abrasion and hydraulic action, actively erodes weak corrosion-resistant rocks, resulting in a depression, called plunge pool. In the Geopark, the plunge pool landscape is rich, and the pool water is clear, lubricant and verdant, forming a pool-waterfall landscape together with the waterfall, inlaiding in the deep mountains and gorges.
此处岩体为官草湖组凝灰质砾岩，节理裂隙较发育。相传南宋末代皇帝宋帝昺（Bǐng）逃难至此处，身心疲惫，面对此石思母心切，依稀可见母亲妆容，故而得名“思母石”。
The Grotesquely-shaped rock here is tuffaceous conglomerate of the Cretaceous Guancaohu Formation, and the joints and fissures are developed. According to the legend, the late emperor Zhao Bing of the Southern Song Dynasty fled to this place and felt exhausted. Facing the stone, he remembered fondly his mother and seemed to see his mother. Therefore, it is called Simu stone.
